April 'But Also' Newsletter

Hey hi heller,

Straight up labeled this with the wrong month, so that's how its going around here. I hope ya'll are well and enjoying the beginnings of spring. There aren't so many event dates coming up cuz summer, buttttt there are a couple:

June 2nd 6:30 PM at Elision Playhouse - Summer Studio Recital with Frye Music Duo

July 13th - JNOC's Annual Changing the Narrative

July 10-21 - SPCM Summer Camp

August 5 & 6 - Vox Nova Chorale Concerts

More deets on each as we get closer. Stay tuned to my Youtube channel as I'll be releasing some videos over the coming months since summer is a bit of a slow time.

In my work as a voice teacher and brand coach and as a biracial human, I mostly try to create programs and offers and even lesson structures that I wish would have been an option to me. (Gonna be chatting about some lesson structures in my broadcast channel over on IG.)

I grew up without a person to talk to about my biraciality and as an adult I don't have a lot of folks to talk to that experience the same things as me, being a vocal social justice voice, as well as a known safe entity. When I look back on my life, there are so many times I wish there was space for the discussions I have on my patreon pod and blog. The next pod is going to be chatting about "To Kill a Mockingbird" and the next blog will be on the "disillusionment of perfection in leadership spaces". By joining patreon you'll be able to participate in the discussion and get access to a load of things - like the upcoming reprise of the Nail Your Intro Masterclass.

In the first version of the Nail Your Intro Masterclass, we had a bunch of multi-passionates trying to put together all the things that they do. The process is simple, but we go deep to find your confidence in your delivery and the words we choose. I recently had the privilege of helping someone 1:1 with their intro as a Branding Bundle and the impact that they have made as they've started using it is amazing!

Years ago when I first started exploring my multiple passions I had trouble combining all of them, but I was stubborn that I couldn't separate them - an intro helped me combine these things and it is one of the most recognizable things about my brand and myself. Intros seem like a little thing, but how often have you stammered through yours as a creative towing the line between saying too much and not enough and trying to encompass all that you are? Yeah - I can help with that. Sign-ups will end May 22nd and did I mention this is a Pay What You Can? Wanna pay $0 do that! Sign up here.

Violinist Aja Majkrzak: A Snapshot in Time: I'm making my way through the 30 Mazas etudes for violin. Every Monday I'm releasing a video of me sight reading the etude to Patreon. Then I'll use that video to diagnose what to work on through the week and release a video on YouTube by the following Sunday. The idea is to share my process and what kind of progress can actually be made in one week. Like any live performance, these videos are just a snapshot in time.
