About Tara
I founded Tara Priolo Studio, LLC in 2019 after nearly a decade of teaching singers and musicians across a wide range of ages, genres, and experience levels. Before launching my independent studio, I taught at Spark School of Music for over three years and All Things Musik for two years. While completing my undergraduate studies, I discovered a deep love for private teaching. I love seeing the growth in artists once we release the entanglements around their voice
My teaching philosophy centers around one core idea:
“Don’t sing trained. Sing free.”
I believe strong technique should create freedom, not fear. My studio is built around a student-led, goal-oriented approach that balances healthy vocal technique with creativity, curiosity, and individuality. Lessons incorporate stretching, breath work, speech-based singing, vocal exercises, musicianship, and repertoire study while allowing students the flexibility to explore music that genuinely connects to them.
I work primarily with teens through middle-aged singers across a variety of genres including classical, musical theatre, contemporary, crossover, and singer-songwriter styles. Many of my students perform regularly in school productions, community theatre, local ensembles, and semi-professional performance spaces. I welcome singers of all experience levels from complete beginners to advanced performers preparing for auditions, performances, and artistic growth.
In addition to voice, I also teach beginning and early intermediate piano. With nearly 20 years of piano experience and several years of teaching piano students, I love helping young musicians build strong musical foundations while fostering creativity, improvisation, and musical confidence. My piano lessons emphasize holistic musicianship, steady growth, and learning at a pace that supports both joy and long-term development.
